Hours worked per week: Please ensure you input the hours worked so that we can accurately calculate the figures.
Rate per hour (£)

Please enter business miles travelled per week: For the first 10,000 business miles travelled, the allowance is 40p per mile. Above this, the allowance is 25p per mile. This calculator will assume 40p.

Please enter any other travel expenses (£): This is for travel expenses associated with work, including bus, tube, train and ferry costs. You could also include parking fees, congestion charge and so forth. Receipts are required.	£

Please enter number of meals claimed for per week: If you work more than 5 miles away from your permanent address or temporary workplace. 5-10 hours working, claim £5. Over 10 hours working, claim £10. Overnight stay, claim £15. Receipts are not required for meals of £5 or less.

Please enter number of overnight stays away from home per week: You can claim a 24 hours allowance for incidental expenses when you have to stay away from your permanent address. You may still claim this if you are staying with friends or relatives.

Please enter your accommodation claim per week (£): If you are staying away from your permanent address, you can claim accommodation expenses. If you are staying with friends or relatives you may claim accommodation expenses of £25 per night. Receipts and proof of address required.	£

Please enter your claim for tools and clothing per week (£): Tools may be claimed for, but must be of an industrial nature and solely for use during your work. Clothing covers safety and specialist items. Receipts required.	£

Please enter the number of items of protective clothing laundered each week: Cleaning and laundering of protective clothing is at the rate of £2.20 per overall, with a maximum of 2 items per day worked.

Please enter the amount spent on business telephone calls per week (£): You may only claim for business calls. Rental of a landline is not allowable, neither are purchase of mobile phone or "pay as you go" top ups.	£

Please enter the amount spent on professional/course fees calls per week (£): You can claim for courses, books, or medical tests relating to your occupation, as well as professional fees such as membership of professional bodies.	£

Many agencies pay you a higher rate per hour just for being a Nova member! The PAYE figure assumes you are getting £1 an hour extra. Figures are illustrative only and are based on a standard tax code. Higher rate taxpayers will be taxed accordingly.
