Choice Umbrella

For those new to contracting you may be given the option by a recruitment agency to be paid via an Umbrella Company as opposed to being paid directly by the agency itself. You might also find that a recruitment agent may only pay you if you operate through an umbrella company, but may also be prepared to pay you an uplift on your hourly rate to operate in this way.

Nova Contracting rather than you, the worker will engage with your agency. Nova will become your employer and you will receive the following benefits:

  • Full employment status via Nova Contracting
  • A quick and simple registration process
  • Statutory benefit entitlement including holiday pay, sick and maternity/paternity pay
  • All taxes and National Insurance Contributions (NICs) are taxed at source so you know that all your taxes have already been paid.
  • Entitlement to a work based pension scheme.
  • All taxes accounted for and paid to HMRC, unlike those who run their own Limited Company
  • The ability to claim business expenses that you incur (wholly and exclusively in the performance of your business duties). Claiming expenses will provide tax relief on the expenses incurred and this will increase your net take home pay, however it is very important to read our section on which expenses are allowable for Umbrella employees. • Total support from Nova Contracting's dedicated customer service team
  • Free SMS text alert to advise you when your net pay has left our account
  • Public Liability and Employer's Liability cover
  • No fees when you are not working
  • Low cost personal accident insurance if required
  • Low fee of only £15 per payment

How it works:

  • Your agency will process your time sheets and send Nova the gross value each week.
  • Nova will process your expense claims and then calculate the relevant tax and National Insurance Contributions. These taxes are then forwarded to HMRC.
  • Your net pay is then forwarded to your account by same day Faster Payments
